Wherever we operate, our first priority is to hire from local and regional populations. At our overseas operations, we make strong efforts to reduce the number of expats. Our Quebec operations generally have 100% local and regional employees as there is an historically strong mining and technical workforce in these areas of the country. In other areas, such as our Rosebel and Essakane mines, there are significant challenges in finding the skilled employees from the surrounding communities, as education and literacy rates are so low. However, we have put strong mandates in place to hire, train and promote local employees.
